Announcement: Louise Jones-Williams appointed Director of Llantarnam Grange Arts Centre

The Board of Llantarnam Grange Arts Centre is delighted to announce the appointment of Louise Jones-Williams as its new Director. 27 Mar 2019

Announcement:  Louise Jones-Williams appointed Director of Llantarnam Grange Arts Centre

Louise brings a wealth of experience to the role in developing the Centre’s exhibitions, education, retail and craft activities over a number of years, as well as supporting the promotion the Centre’s work outside the Grange to our valued local and regional communities and partners. Louise is a highly experienced curator, promoting the work of some of the finest artists and makers through exhibitions such as "On My Mother’s Knee", "Dark Tales" and most recently "Suffrage". Louise has also been a selector for both Made by Hand Wales and the Contemporary Craft Festival, and has been Acting Director of Llantarnam Grange Arts Centre since September 2018.

Llantarnam Grange Arts Centre Chair Elaine Cabuts said "On behalf of the Board and staff I would like to congratulate Louise on her appointment, and say how delighted we are to welcome her as the new Director. We look forward to supporting her work with the hugely talented team, leading the organisation forward to build on its relationship with audiences, artists, the communities we serve, and our partner organisations."

Louise Jones-Williams said "I’m delighted to be taking on the role of Director at Llantarnam Grange Arts Centre. I look forward to taking the Centre into the next phase of its growth and development. We have ambitious plans for the future to increase access and support for our communities, provide greater opportunities for artists and makers, and develop more ways of supporting up-and-coming creative individuals. We are committed to increasing our work with our partners, so that together we can provide strong leadership for the sector as a whole."

Llantarnam Grange Arts is the regional centre for the applied arts in South East Wales. The Centre is a member of the Arts Portfolio Wales, funded through the Arts Council of Wales. The Centre also receives funding from Torfaen County Borough Council, Cwmbran Community Council, Croesyceiliog & Llanyrafon Community Council and independent trusts and foundations. Llantarnam Grange Arts Centre is a registered charity governed by a voluntary Board of Trustees.
